I will start today…
If you have been following me for a while now you know that I have been really working hard lately to live my life with gratitude, intention, and purpose. If you have read my previous post of 19 influencers you should be following for your self-development journey.
I know I am #madeformore. I have always felt and dreamt it but thought because I lived in a small town my whole life I was to live and die there.
How does the Start Today Journal work?
Please check out Rachel’s Podcast where she reads the first chapter of her Journal. She can explain it better than I ever could. You check out the podcast right here or watch this quick video.
What I took away from the podcast was to imagine what your life would look like in 10 years… Now write down everything you can think of about your life. Next rewrite it going bigger. Think about the biggest picture you could ever imagine in your life. Don’t hold back.
Now write 10 dreams from the life you wrote, but write them as if they have already happened. Don’t say “I will make a million dollars.” Write “I have a million dollars in my bank account.”
Start today because It’s not true
It’s not true… Not at all. We are not meant to just live and die without doing the things we love. For that reason, I decided to follow Rachel Hollis on what she does with her journal. I don’t have the journal in my possession but she says that’s okay. She used to do this with just a piece of paper and a pencil. (Do I hear a list coming?)
If you know me, read my blog, or looked at my Instagram feed you know I love lists and this is listing out your dreams as if they have already happened.
You essentially are manifesting the life you will have. You are tricking your subconscious into working on your dreams to make them goals and eventually you will be living the life you deserve because we are all made for more.
Where do I see myself in 10 years?
I envision myself waking up finally married to Mike. I get up in the morning to make myself a cup of coffee for both of us. While I am drinking my coffee I turn to see a kid running around. More specifically… our kid. I see myself getting them ready for school and getting ready myself. We hug and kiss Mike before we leave for the day.
I drop them off at school on my to my office where I own a successful business. I am running my lifestyle blog and selling products that I have made. As well as doing motivational speaking events. I want to share how with others how to live their best life. Sharing how I went from having nothing to living the life I knew I deserved. I have about 20 people who work with me that help with running the business. I am the boss, but without these people, I wouldn’t have the life I have. My employees are the best.
What do I see for my company?
I am no longer that girl sitting at her desk in her living room trying to figure out what to write about. I have brought on more writers, as well as myself to produce content. We gather in the mornings to discuss new post ideas, product giveaways, and ways to expand our business. We have a bunch of interviews lined up with Rachel and Dave Hollis and Gary Vaynerchuk.
I work a 9 to 5 job at the office occasionally bring work home with me because I love it so much. However, I don’t let it interfere with my family time. I pick my kids up every day from school and we drive to our 2 story farmhouse home. Mike comes out from the backyard because he works from home in our Barnhouse/warehouse making hot sauces and growing/selling pepper plants.
Start today for my family
On the weekends, we like to take all the kids to the farmers market to sell the produce we have grown in our backyard. If we are not at the farmers market we are going to the beach, the spring, or just hiking outside somewhere.
In the 10 years since starting the blog and the Our Redonkulous Life brand. We have become financially stable. We have multiple streams of money coming in and we have been able to buy multiple homes to rent out. We have been able to pay off our debts and student loans. We have saved enough money to live comfortably for retirement.
I know Rachel said to write it all down and then go bigger, but this is what I want my life to look like.
10 Dreams
(write them as if they have already happened)
1. I am married to Mike
2. We have a healthy baby.
3. I am writing amazing, inspirational blog posts that people are reading and sharing.
4. I work with brands and sponsors that I love and use on a regular basis.
5. I interview people who inspired me so much Rachel and Dave Hollis and GaryVee
6. I built a successful brand and company that makes thousands a year.
7. We bought our dream house with our dreamland.
8. We start a business for our hot sauce.
9. I am an exceptional wife and mother.
10. I make enough money to be financially stable and debt-free with money saved for retirement.
One goal to start today:
I am writing amazing, inspirational blog posts that people are reading and sharing.
Hopefully, this is one of them!
I hope you guys enjoyed this little sneak peek into what I am manifesting for my life. My focus this year is working towards the life I know I deserve. As well as working on this manifestation technique. Incorporate this into a 6 month glow up challenge.
Let me know in the comments What are some ways you are living your best life? What does your dream life look like?

Yeah, I have a happy planner I use for every day, but I like this for writing out my dreams, goals and what I am grateful for.
Great post! Rachel Hollis has been an inspiration to me as well.
I think she is my spirit animal!
What an interesting way to approach accomplishing your dreams. She is right though, we don’t just get born and die, we need to really live. And why not start today?
I agree. I needed to just start. Stop worrying about what if and make it happen.
I love the idea of writing dreams down like they. have already happened…helping them to manifest.
Me too. At first, I was like “mmmm Rachel, I don’t know about this” But I did it anyway and now I think it kind of awakes something inside you when you act like they already happened.
This is a great read. I hope you succeed in all you desire. And it’s great you have such a positive attitude and outlook. Dont let people take that away.
Thank you, Carriann! I have been really working towards being more positive and I have found a lot more things go my way if I am optimistic.

Thank you, Dominique! I am working backward from my goals/dreams. So I can layout roughly what I need to do, but I will continue on writing my goals as if they already happened.

I agree, Tushar. As long as they are small achievable goals. Your wildest dreams should be able to come to fruition.
So, the first time that I really heard anything like this was a mentor of mine made me do it as an exercise to get my business started, and I loved it! It’s so much fun to do, and it really helps set goals and build confidence! Love it!
I am actually really enjoying it too. I was a little hesitant but hopefully, something comes out of doing this.
