Life is looking a little mundane lately… Stress is at an all time high, motivation is at an all time low, creativity is nowhere to be found and putting on actual clothes during the day is not an option… We need to start normalizing that It’s Okay Not To Be Okay… It is perfectly normal to feel this way.

Often times we push our emotions and feelings deep down inside and continue on with life as if nothing is bothering us. We don’t want to be the reason for someone’s bad day. We think it will pass and just keep pushing through. When that is not the case.

Sometimes it doesn’t get better. Sometimes it gets worse.

It’s Okay Not To Be Okay

Sometimes it gets so bad you start crying into a plate of chicken nuggets. Which that type of crying should only be done with pure happiness because cmon its chicken nuggets… But sometimes life has a different path for you. It’s okay not to be okay. Its perfectly normal.

When you are dealing with real life changing situations to is expect to not be okay. It is okay to admit to yourself and those around you that you are not okay.

I understand if you don’t admit it to those around you. You want to you want someone to know and try to help, but you don’t think you are worth it. You think you will get pity and concern, but think you don’t derserve it. Those around you have a million other things to worry about that are far more important than you and your silly little problem.

So you admit to yourself and let the overwhelming and overthinking take over your mind and silently say to others “You don’t have to worry about me. I can do that.”

Sometimes you just have to give yourself a little morning pep talk

It’s perfectly normal

You suffer in silence because that is what we are taught to do. It’s okay not to be okay. It is expected. It is going to happen a lot throughout your life. You have to accept that you won’t be okay and that has to be okay, because that is how things are.

You can not be okay all the time. Sometimes you have to sit and cry into chicken nuggies because they comfort you and never judge you.

Why can’t people be more like chicken nuggies? Don’t judge people. Not taste great baked or fried to a golden perfection. That is just weird. I created an image in my head that I know need you to also imagine it. LOL

Use this post as a place for you to admit if you are not okay. and I will go first.

I am not okay. There are all these ideas in my head, but don’t know where to start. I got my period for the first time in a couple months that knocked the wind out of me. Welcome to having PCOS. I am mentally and emotionally exhausted. Trying to make a livable wage from blogging and its not working. So I am starting to look for a job and enlisted the help of my local career source to help brush me up on my professional skills. I think I want to go to the doctor to see if I have ADHD, because lately I think I do. I am just not in a good place mentally and all I can do is take it one day at time.

It’s okay not to be okay it’s perfectly normal.

  1. Lovely post, everyone goes through a lot during the daily lives and shouldn’t be pressured to be happy 100% of the time. Emotions are completely normal and I agree it is okay not to be alright sometimes.

  2. Thanks for the reminder. I do allow myself to dwell on not being okay because that will help me get it out of my system, whatever it is that’s bothering me.

  3. Being not ok sometimes is normal. We all experienced this feeling, down, stressed, overthinking.. I guess we need to pray and be positive at these times. We will get through this.

  4. I do agree that “okay” is a very subjective word and sometimes it’s just your state of mind and how you deal with the situation. I think some music and a supportive system in your inner circle will help ~

  5. I totally agree with you. We don’t have to fix ourselves right up when we’re hurting or don’t feel to well. We dont have to figure everything out already. Sometimes we just have to feel.

  6. My wife suffered from PCOS and I remember the highs and lows she went through. I think everyone in some form or another has some issues with themselves, and as you say – this is ok, normal in fact. Everyone is different, everyone deals with sh*t differently too. Find good support networks because you are never alone…

  7. We have a local movie with this title and its surely okay that sometimes in our life? We are not okay because as the saying goes ‘ Its not everyday christmas for us!

It is sometimes somewhat comforting to know that there are people out there that can share their feelings and reassure you that you are not alone, and that a good number are fighting huge battles in silence. We are in this thing called living on earth together and we are going to make it. just that for now, its okay that we are not okay. *hug*

  9. It’s normal not to be okay, it’s something that happens more often to every human with feelings and emotions. And it’s perfectly fine to cry, you’ll feel better.

  10. I am told at work never show emotions but there are times where I am tired or sad. I actually was sad recently at work because I lost a friend and a student was worried about me. It is ok to show emotions as that makes us connect and be human.

  11. Life is tough. Sometimes you just have to openly express that and in all cases, that’s actually quite acceptable.

  12. It’s becoming more acceptable to not feel you have to be okay. It’s important to have friends you can talk to as it can help.

  13. Anxiety and depression sometimes are normal. I guess we just have to pray and stay focus on our goals.

  19. What an amazing massage. It is ok not to be okay. We are human and we feel emotions and we need to express them. We cannot hide them or they overwhelm them. We need to talk them out.

  21. You said it so right that it’s okay to not be okay. We put so much pressure on ourselves to make believe that all is ok and push ahead that it sometimes comes tumbling down on us.

  22. This post is very relatable. Definitely many would understand this. We are under anxiety especially when this global pandemic started. Yeah, there are moments that we don’t feel okay, and yes, it’s normal to feel this way.
