Making new friends with Bumble BFF

I wasn’t going to post about this, but I figured why not explore it… In case anyone is having a hard time making friends this might be of use to you. I am pushing myself out of my comfort zone. How ask? I am making new friends with Bumble BFF. I am trying it out so you don’t have to! We will see how long it takes to make a match. I am signing up at 3:30p.

If you have been a reader of my blog then you know I moved to Tampa at the end of January of 2020. Covid became a big thing in March. I went to 1 social event in my neighborhood. Since then, I have not really interacted with my neighbors since then. I left a lot of my old friends back in my old town. So my life as of right now only consists of online friends.

I think it’s time I find some friends that actually live near me.

What is Bumble?

If you are anything like me you would read the title of this post and think I was trying to set you up on a dating site… Which I mean technically I am… BUT it is not what you think.

I first heard about Bumble BFF through this whole Gabbie Petito case, but I didn’t think much of it. Until I saw a video on Tiktok today about a girl who was using it to make some new friends. So I thought why the hell not. I need friends. It doesn’t hurt to see what’s out there.

So yes Bumble is a dating site, but they have other options. Bumble dating, BFF, and Bizz. It is all on one app so don’t be searching for Bumble BFF and wonder why only Bumble comes up as I did. LOL

You sign up on Bumble with Facebook or your email and it gives you the option to choose dating, BFF, or Bizz. Dating to find the love of your life… BFF for making friends or Bizz for business. I don’t know it’s none of my business.

Fill out your Bumble BFF profile

Once you sign up you fill out your profile. I chose to sign up with Facebook, but I had to edit the pictures it chose for my profile. Fill it out with things you like to do, music. You also have the option to link your Instagram and Spotify.

You know making friends with the SAME MUSIC TASTE AS YOU is EVERYTHING!

Fill out your profile with as much pizazz as you like. It is all up to you!

Swipe Left or Right

Click on the little 3 line icon down at the bottom and you are good to go. You can swipe up on a profile to read all about them or you can be shallow and base it off of looks. Swiping left means you are not interested and swiping right means you ARE interested.

If they swipe left on you no harm no foul. If they swipe Right on you then this is where the magic happens because IT’S A MATCH, BABY! You have 24 hours for someone to message first to keep the connection. If you don’t in 24 hours your connection is lost faster than a MAD TV lowered expectations video… HAHAHA

My expectations of Bumble BFF

I really don’t have any. Do I hope people swipe right on me… Yeah. If they don’t no harm no foul. It just wasn’t meant to be. I made my profile, edited my profile, edited my pictures. I spent some time swiping a few left siped a few right and now we wait and see what happens.

Update

UPDATE 10/12 4:30p Dang only took an hour for someone to swipe right back. I swiped right on someone and they swiped right on me. I sent a message and now we wait… Could this be it? Could I have a new friend? LOL JK but how exciting would that be.

This is just the beginning there will be a part 2 to this. Anyways I will keep ya’ll updated.
