Want to get to know yourself better? Asking yourself the right questions could spark a journey of self-discovery. You can find out who you really are and get a clear vision of what you truly want for your life.
We are told so many things growing up that we don’t question. We don’t stop and ask if what we are doing is bringing a sense of happiness. When answering self-discovery questions you can change any false beliefs you have about yourself.
Asking questions that provoke a thoughtful response can bring insight into these patterns we have subjected ourselves to. We can answer self-discovery questions to change what we know about ourselves and create a positive change in our lives.
How to start answering Self-Discovery Questions
This is all up to you. You decide how many questions you want to answer and how in-depth do you want to go. Not all questions have to be answered. You could pick a few out to answer during the weekend. Or you could just answer one at a time once a day or a week.
No need to rush yourself on answering these questions. Self-discovery does not happen overnight. Decide what pace is good for you. Don’t overwhelm yourself by answering all 25 in one night.
Relax and take your time. Find yourself a quiet, cozy place where you can think freely without distractions.
Use a journal to record your answers
If you are like me and have to see what you are doing, I suggest getting a journal. Nothing fancy you could use a sheet of paper or a 2.00 notebook from Walmart. I do this so days, weeks or months down the road I can see if my answers have changed. Have I grown as a person?
You can also do this with a laptop, it doesn’t have to be pen to paper. You do whatever makes you feel comfortable.
For me, when I ask myself a new question I like to write down my initial thoughts. My answer could be “What kind of question is this?” “What does that have to do with anything?” I let the question linger in my head for a bit and then come back to it.
Take note of your emotions
All types of emotions can surface when answering these questions. Whatever emotions you are having… write them down. Write down whether this question made you angry, made you sad, or happy.
Take note of the emotions you are having towards questions. It can provide valuable information about your patterns. Any emotion you have toward a question can be changed if you want it to. This is all about discovering who you are as a person.
Be kind to yourself during this process
Don’t beat yourself up while answering these questions. These are not to make you feel bad, these are again to help you grow as a person. If you don’t want to go about this alone, send me an email and I will help you as much as I can. If not me, ask a friend you trust, who will tell you the truth no matter what.
Again, be kind to yourself and allow yourself to feel each question. Answer them 100% honestly.

I am currently working on #24. Although my last post was about “The Art of Getting Shit Done”. I found myself all last week just mentally and physically drained. Because of this, I did absolutely nothing and I spent the whole week beating myself up about it. I talk more about it on my Instagram if you would like to follow me over there.
