I find these personal growth quotes when I least expect them and they somehow always relate to what I am thinking internally or what I am going through in life. Instead of hogging them for myself, I would share some of these gems I found along my personal growth journey. I have plenty more of these but let’s start off with 15 powerful personal growth quotes to energize you.
I hope these quotes inspire and energize you to continue on your journey. Or inspire you to start your journey. Even if you are not ready to commit to a full personal growth journey, I hope these quotes make you think and question life. Let me know in the comments if you would like me to do a second part.
Recognize
Once you recognize that you are not where you want to be is a starting point to begin changing your life. That is exactly what happened to me. I woke up one morning back in February of 2019 and realized I was not happy with how my life was going. March of 2019 I started this blog. Our Redonkulous Life wouldn’t be here right now if I didn’t come to the realization that I was made for more and deserved to live a life on my own terms unapologetically. That is when this personal growth journey happened.
Don’t Settle
I have mentioned in previous posts about having being mediocre shoved down my throat. No one in my family dreamed big for their life. I still get looks or comments for the decisions I make in my life. I spent the first 33 years of my life accepting that I was to be born, live and die in the same town. Which is fine if that is what you want, but just know that it 100% if you don’t want that. Others may not understand but don’t settle for less because you wont step out of your comfort zones.
What’s in your sandwich?
I added this one because it made me laugh to think of life as a sandwich but he is not wrong. When you are laying on your death bed you don’t want to look back on your life and realize that you didn’t reach your fullest potential because you let others dictate your life. A stale life between 2 stale pieces of bread. Or you really just settled and let your bread get soggy. Nobody likes soggy bread and If you do that is weird. LOL
Have you finished the chapter yet?
I have always looked at my life in chapters. Am I the only one? I mentioned in my post about shadow work that On a molecular level, every organ in your body changes every seven years. and if that is really true.
I have been 5 different versions of myself.
(1) ages 1-7
(2) ages 8-14
(3) ages 15-21
(4) ages 22-28
(5) ages 29-35
I was a different person in each one of those 7 year gaps. How many different versions would there be of you?
Do you have commitment issues?
We want to find true love, a soulmate, and all that jazz… but do you think you should commit to yourself before you commit to someone else? Be your own true love or soulmate. Commit to yourself, show up for yourself so you can achieve those goals you have swirling around in your pretty little head of yours. We are so eager to commit to others, but not to ourselves… Why?
Stop comparing yourself to others
This has taken me a lot of years to learn and it is the one thing I preach to my step daughter. To stop comparing yourself to others and their life. You are comparing someone’s middle to your beginning. You can’t do that. That is only going to discourage you from doing things in your life and you will always end up thinking you are not good enough. You should only be comparing yourself to your past self. Are you better now than back then? No, then something has got to change boo boo. There are too many years passing and you are still doing the same thing.
Make a pledge
I made a pledge to myself to do a 6-month glow-up challenge. I have fallen off the wagon a bit, but I am still committed to doing all those things. Not that I am giving up… I am still working towards those goals, but it just might take me a little be longer and that is okay. Because I am being picky with my time and my energy because I am worth it to be picky. I don’t want to just straight into something without actually thinking about it. So my 6-month glow-up challenge may end up being 8 months or 12 months. That is okay as long as I pledge to myself to do what I say I am going to do.
There is more to life than money
I feel so bad for people who only think about making money. Yes, that may make you rich, but what else do you have to offer? Yes, making money is nice, but not when you make so much it changes you as a person. That’s why I don’t fall for the fake social media posts on Instagram. The more unorganized the posts the more real the person. Take a look at my feed… I am all over the place. hahaha
When Mike gets money he says he is buying a Lamborghini or a Tesla. I just want a nice house with enough space for me and mike and his kids when they come to visit… of even grandbabies. I want 2 cars for us and land to grow our veggies. Living a simple life without going to far out of my means is what I want.
I don’t need Louis Vuitton bags or Gucci slides. I want to get to know a person for who they are. Tell me your favorite song to cry to in the shower and why it makes you cry. Deep conversations are the best. I want connections to myself and to those around me.

Great choices! I like the Freud quote about comparison best. Very true statement.
These personal growth quotes definitely energized me! I like this quote “If you don’t go after what you want, you could spend your entire life settling for what you can get. by Mo Stegall” the most.
Me too! Just something about it makes me think oh no I don’t want to settle for something easy.
Life is a journey, indeed. If your life seem messy a bit, just realized that some go through the same road and others were able to redirect so they can find their way home.
Love that!
Awesome quotes, I like the one that says to go after what you want. It reminds us not to be lazy and make an effort. Thank you for sharing!
Exactly!
Love these quotes. I think that as we get older it’s important to do constant self reflection and see how we need to grow as a person.
I agree with you. I constantly think about who I was then and where I was in life to where I am now. They are completely different people. That is how you know you are growing.
