Long time no blog my redonkulous peeps! Let’s do a life update. I didn’t realize it had been 6 weeks since my last post or republished post. It is so funny how time can just slip away from you. I am a horrible blog owner. I have been doing this since 2019… There has been a week missed here or there the last 5 years but 6 weeks… in a row. That is UNACCEPTABLE.
Would it not be a personal growth blog post if I didn’t tell you that when Friday would roll around and I KNEW I didn’t put out content I would beat myself up about it? LOL
With that being said…
Let’s get into this life update
Welcome back and let me start off by stating – I’ve REALLY missed connecting with you all on here! I can’t tell you how many blog posts I’ve started that I never published on here and/or on other social media platforms but just never got around to finishing them.
Let’s keep it real as I share why I went MIA, what I have been up to, and catch up on all the juicy tea. After I finish sharing what I’ve been up to, I encourage you to share, in the comments, what you’ve been up to lately. I would love to hear.
Burnt Out
As I said earlier I have been blogging for 5 years. Between last year and this year, we haven’t been doing much that sparked personal growth. Almost every weekend since Mike and I got together we have ALWAYS gone on adventures. That adventure would spark some kind of personal growth blog post. Constantly trying to come up with ideas and ACTUALLY sitting down to write them became increasingly harder. I wasn’t inspired. I am not going to write about something I am not doing myself. I became burnt out trying to come up with content when I wasn’t feeling it.
I put too much pressure on myself to be this cookie-cutter blogger and wanted to put out that I was living my best life when in reality I was drowning in my own thoughts. I think I just needed time to sit with everything and kind of relax some even though I would beat myself up on Fridays. I was falling out of love with the reason why I started this blog and I needed to work on finding that again and then I was forced to…
Bartholin Cyst
I am going to write a whole blog post about this going into detail because I NEED every person who has a fucking vagina to know what a monstrosity this bitch was. Let’s just say in my 37 years of life I have NEVER heard of this and would not wish this upon my worse enemy. I should have documented the whole process while I was going through it but my brain could not compute what was going on fully. I did make 2 TikToks and a few posts about it bitching on social media but when it got to its worse stage I couldn’t function. So look for that post next week if you wanna here about a pain traumatizing experience.
Married/Anniversary
Once I got over the hump of my little cyst friend and a month-ish later Mike and I tied the knot. We are OFFICIALLY MARRIED. We got married June 12th and our 11th year anniversary together was June 13th. The reason we got married on the 12th is that for the first 5 years of our relationship, we celebrated our anniversary on the 12th only to find out in year 6 VIA a Facebook memory pop-up that we in fact started dating on the 13th.
So now we officially can celebrate both days now and can request 2 days off in a row to celebrate each year in style. LOL, I am writing about that as well because WHY THE HELL NOT? Also, I AM A WHOLE-ASS WIFEY NOW!
Monthly Reset
So between dealing with my cyster and planning a wedding in a week and a half/ 2 weeks. My house was trashed. Everything was a mess, every surface had things on it. It was becoming so overwhelming to the point I didn’t know where to start. Laundry piled up, dishes piled up, Everywhere I looked it was just mess, disorganized, chaos. I like to think that was also a contributing factor as to why I couldn’t sit and write anything. My environment was just craziness and I couldn’t function mentally.
So Mike and I spent 4 days cleaning the house it is not 100% but it’s at about 85-90%. You know that damn kitchen can’t stay clean someone is ALWAYS cooking something, especially in this household. But I am also going to share a post about what we did to get the house in order and what we are doing to maintain it, but more importantly why you should do a monthly reset of your home.
Moving 2024
Adding the monthly reset is also helping us prepare for our 2024 move. do we know where yet? No… LOL Mike and I and the landlords are not seeing eye to eye anymore and they are making it increasingly difficult to continue living here. So we have worked it out with them that we will stay until our lease is up and then we will part ways. (Once we move I’ll go into more details, LOL) But until we move we are going to do what we need to do.
So by adding the monthly reset, we are decluttering our house as we go (I got a post about that coming as well) and I will be sharing all about the move when it gets closer to the date. As for now, we need to save up as much money as we can from now until then and declutter and organize the house to help make it a seamless move.
What a life update!
That is everything that has been going on in these past 6 weeks. Even though I took this time off it was a “vacation”. I did think about how I want this blog to go and what I can do to keep up my momentum. I don’t want to get burnt out again and if I have to take some time off I have content scheduled and ready to post.
If you are a fellow blogger what do you do to keep your momentum up to publish once a week or multiple times a week? I am looking to up my blogging game and could use some guidance.
If you are not a blogger let me know in the comments what you have been up to lately!
As of right now, I have my next 3 blog posts planned out and I am slowly… I mean ssslllooowwwllllyyyy writing them. I will come up with a better solution to my problem, but not today. LOL
I love you guys and I appreciate you sticking with me during my spring hiatus, but I am back and ready for the new season to begin! Who’s that girl? Who’s that girl? Its Jess… I mean Michele! =)
