Since I am taking my first trip by myself on a plane to New Jersey. A vacation bucket list was made of some of the things I want to do while I am up there for 2 weeks.
I am so nervous but so excited to hang out with my Cousin Deborah. There is also nervousness/excitement about all the things I want to do and will do, plus I want to do it on a budget as well. I have never been to the big main attractions of a place. I like finding the off-the-beaten-path things to do.
Yet, most of the things on this list are popular tourist spots, but I have to see them. Mark them off of my bigger bucket list that I saw these places.
Fulling my inner teenager’s dreams
Plus I want to fulfill my inner teenage self. I told Mike some of these when we went up north last year. We didn’t do them because I didn’t want to drive through New York and I wanted to get home. It was a long-ass drive.
I want to do and see stuff that is amazing and breathtaking, that sparks those creative juices flowing in my brain. It’s all part of my new self-care routine. I want to put myself out there more. This will not be my only trip by myself.
Go to Massachusetts
First thing I want to do if I can. I want to take the 5-hour drive to Massachusetts to see my Step-Son and his Girlfriend Alexa. I can’t come up here without at least meeting him for lunch and spending an afternoon with them. Although they will be down in December for Christmas. I would still like to see them!
Go to my Cousin’s favorite places!
This trip can’t be all about me. I want to see the places and things my Cousin Deb does. Over the years we have come to realize she and I are A LOT alike. We have never spent a significant amount of time together and seen how the other person lives.
We met for the first time last year and hung out at her house for a few hours. It was so much fun, I didn’t want to leave. Sadly I had to. So I want her to show me all her favorite spots, so I get to know her on a deeper level.
Exploring NYC is on my bucket list
One of the days while I am in New Jersey I would love to visit New York and knock these 7 things off of my bucket list. I have always wanted to explore New York City. Since I was little all the movies were set in New York City, and I wanted to see all the places and bright lights.
All I want is to take a picture there. The main places I want to see are Grand Central Station, Central Park, and Broadway Theatre. As well as Times Square, see the Statue of Liberty and take the Staten Island Ferry. Can’t forget the most important place the MTV TRL studios (to fulfill a teenage dream of mine).
Vacation Bucket List
See any kind of Art
I would love to see art of any kind. Mike and I like to go to museums around Florida. Anything that has to do with history we are down. It doesn’t have to be in a museum, it could be sidewalk art, gallery, or graffiti. I love it all!
Explore Atlantic City
This is a place my mom said she spent a lot of time here growing up. She told me a couple of years before she passed that she used to be obsessed with the show Jersey Shore. Not for the storyline or the people, but for the places they would go to or show in the background. I believed she missed Jersey a lot, but would never move back.
My mom used to tell me when I was little that her stepfather used to own the boardwalk in Atlantic City. I don’t know how true that was. My mother didn’t really talk about her childhood or growing up. Which is another reason why I am taking this trip to learn more about my mother and where she came from?
See a live band
Music is a big passion of mine. I listen to all types. I know my Cousin is heavily into music as well. So while I am here I want to do something with music. Listen to great bands, maybe some karaoke. That shit is my CRACK!
Great Falls in Paterson NJ
This looks like a beautiful place to visit. I love waterfalls and being outdoors. Show me any place that looks like this and I am hooked. Not much to say about this I love nature. Check out our post of the things we do in Pasco County or just the pictures of our adventures.
Go somewhere haunted
I want to go to a place that is haunted or explore some cemeteries. I don’t want to eff with any spirits or bring anything home. But I love learning about haunted places or going to cemeteries to pay my respects. I find it fascinating to read the dates of when people died. Wondering what the time was like back then.
This is my vacation bucket list for when I go to New Jersey in 11 days. I hope you enjoyed the bucket list.
Please let me know in the comments what is on your vacation bucket list. Please let me know if you have any suggestions while I am in the New Jersey/New York area.

Until Next Time. Have a Great Day!
The Great Falls looks amazing! I haven’t been to New Jersey so this would be on my list for sure.
I wanted to go there so bad and we didn’t make it. But we did end up going to a cliff that was even more beautiful.
I am in love with New York. I’ve been there many times, but every time I visit, there’s something new to see and experience. New Jersey, I’ve only experienced briefly. I should make time to explore it too, next time.
I am in love with New York too. There is so much I want to see.
Be great to get an update and see how many of these things you achieved!
Honestly, I would love to give you an update, but in reality, I could sum it up right now. I did not fulfill my bucket list. My cousin had to work, so I spent most of my time at her house. We went to see a punk show one night and hiked to a cliff. Great trip to see my cousin, but sucky trip on being able to do anything.
It looks like you have some great places on your bucket list. When it’s summer, the Jersey shore is nice. Exploring NYC is great, there’s so much to see and do.
I know. Since I wasn’t able to do it on this trip. Mike and I are making a separate trip of its own.
I’m impressed by your planning. I’ve lived in New Jersey for over 20 years now. And you have actually found something worth seeing in Patterson – impressive.
Hahaha, my cousin said the same thing.
I have never been to this country and I am so looking forward to visit it in the future. I will also take note of this trip. Thanks for this!
Oh jonas, I have a whole bunch more I could share as well.
I have been to NY quite a few times, till date I feel as if I haven’t seen enough of it, and New Jersey is wonderful. I also wanna see a live band.
I still haven’t made it to New York, New Jersey is awesome and My cousin took me to see a punk rock show.
Your bucket list is so interesting to read. NYC is in my travel plan too.
I have to fulfill the childhood dream of mine. I always wanted to go.
Great ideas of for your vacation bucket list! I still haven’t been to the Jersey Shore yet but I too was kind of addicted to the Jersey Shore tv show and also I heard that they have a gigantic Elephant statue there that is a secret Airbnb too!
Love all the other things you listed on your bucket list! Since you listed something haunted, did you know that the Jersey Devil may or may not be a real thing!! Check out the possibly haunted “Pine Barrens” in New Jersey and see or run from the Jersey Devil!!!
I would love to see that elephant statue. I will have to ask my cousin about that.
Wow! I’ve been to New Jersey several times and didn’t know amazing places like these existed!! I definitely need to go back now.
I can’t wait to go back to finish this list.
This kind of blog is really a great reference in the future when I have the means to visit New Jersey and other places. I love your blog. Very informative.
Save it Chez. I will be sharing more adventures on a budget.
Okay! So I go to New Jearsey every year to meet my Aunt but I had no idea about a haunted place there. I am going to use your awesome list for my next visit.
I will let you know about some haunted places in New Jersey. My cousin has the hook up.
There’s so much to do in New Jersey! Would love to go back when the world is safe again
