As a website owner, it’s essential to keep your website fresh and up-to-date. However, as time goes on, it’s easy for a website to become cluttered and disorganized, leaving my lifelong friends and new friends frustrated and lost. That’s why I’ve decided to take on the task of updating my website to better serve my redonkulously awesome peeps.
With that being said Our Redonkulous Life Is Getting A Major Facelift
Our Redonkulous Life turned 5 years old on the 6th of March. I love where my site is right now “looks-wise”, but it could be better and I have to take the time to make it the best for me and for my lifelong friends and new friends who visit and engage in my content. My mindset has shifted over the years and what I want for ORL has changed in the process.
I want to spend year 5 having a more flowing organization and look. In 4 years I have written 211 posts and sometimes it’s even hard for me to find the information I have written about. Also, on the back admin side of things, it’s what I like to call an “organized chaotic mess”, but I have come to realize that that way of working is not beneficial to anyone especially me. When things feel chaotic, I am chaotic… In my MIND, not in real LIFE. Just had to clarify! LOL
What is the process?
So the first step in my update process is to organize my website. Over time, my website has accumulated a lot of content, and it’s become difficult for my lifelong friends and new friends to find what they’re looking for. I plan to create a clear and easy-to-navigate menu system that will make it simple for all of us to access the information we need.
Everything is going to be separated into 14 categories. 12 of them are going to be what I base my whole Personal Growth Journey on and the other 2 are going to be Life Audits and reflecting.
Life Audits (What’s Next?? For your time, space, mental energy, physical energy, and money)
Relationships (partners, friendships, family, people you come in contact with, your community)
Self-Care (doing things for yourself, adventures, hobbies)
Career (finding a job you love, making the money you deserve, Blogging)
Financial (understanding of, use of, and relationship with money)
Education (growth, learning, exploration, self-improvement)
Spirituality (Working on your religion or connecting with the world around you, nature)
Physical (Eating Healthy, Exercising, Anything that has to do with your body)
Environment (your home, your belongings, and the resources you have at your fingertips)
Journaling (Prompts, Shadow Work, and Self Discovery)
Emotional Health ( understanding and working on your emotions, traumas, and self-love)
Mental Health (self-awareness, mindfulness, outlook on life, Online Presence)
Daily Life (Lifestyle, Routines, Habits)
Reflecting (Self-reflect about the year – What worked, what didn’t, what to change, and what can stay the same)
In addition to improving the navigation of my website, I will also be updating old posts. Some of the content on my website is outdated and does not represent what I am trying to achieve for ORL and it’s time for a refresh. I will be going through my old posts and updating them with new information, correcting any mistakes, and ensuring that they are still relevant and useful to my audience. If they are not I will try to rewrite them to fit the vision for ORL. It is possible that might not work so we might have a tab called “WTF was I thinking??” LOL
To make this transition as smooth as possible, I ask that my visitors bear with me during this process. Depending on how long it takes… New content may not be published for a little bit and some links and pages may not be available for a short period of time, but rest assured that the end result will be a better user experience for everyone. I will keep visitors updated on the progress of the update through my social media channels and email newsletters.
In addition to updating the organization and content of my website, I also plan to make some aesthetic updates. I want to give my website a fresh look reflecting my brand and personality. This will include updating my color scheme, fonts, and images.
We can see over the years I have changed styles, colors, and images, with the pastel colors that are on here now I am absolutely in love with them. I again can make them better looking. I am finding my colorful self again from years ago that I hid so I could blend in with the world. I no longer want to do that.
I want Our Redonkulous Life to serve as a beacon of light for those who are starting their Personal growth journey. In 4 years I am more me now than I was years ago. That is what I want for all of my lifelong friends and new friends who visit my little slice of heaven.
Getting A Major Facelift
Overall, I’m excited to embark on this website update journey. It will take time and effort, but I know it will be worth it in the end. Some things will take no time to update… some will take a little bit longer. Like updating Pinterest images. But it has to be done! By improving my website’s organization, content, and design, I hope to provide a better experience for all… my lifelong friends who visit me all the time and hope that these upgrades attract new friends to stick around with us. Thank you for your patience and support during this process.
Until next time, Have a great day! Remember you are a badass!
