Are you interested in things that are Fun, Cheap, or Free? Yeah, that’s what I thought, me too!! Let me introduce you to Jordan Page the Queen of Fun Cheap or Free!
**Disclaimer: I do not own any of these photos. These are all from FuncheaporFree.com or Jordan’s Youtube Page.**
Jordan is the QUEEN of Fun Cheap or Free things. Have you ever just stumbled upon someone who inspires you to be better? This is what it was like finding Jordan Page of Fun, Cheap or Free. I have learned so much from this woman and can’t believe she just randomly popped up in the queue on YouTube, but man I am so glad she did. ALL HAIL THE QUEEN!
You really need to check her out if you want to learn all the mom hacks she has. I wish I would have seen her videos 5 years ago. She would have saved me so much money. This woman is amazing. I have become obsessed with all her little tips and tricks. If you could see my YouTube history, it would be nothing but her videos.
Here is a list of the top 10 tips and tricks I have learned from Jordan Page, the Queen of Fun Cheap or Free
1. Making food ahead of time
Make-Ahead Freezer Sandwiches and put them in the freezer. Yes, you can freeze sandwiches. ((Mind Blown)) I know. I was shocked. Now you can’t just slap some meat and cheese together. There is a system because no one likes soggy bread! It’s more than just ham and cheese you can do it with a lot of things.
I do it for Mike and Mikayla all the time. I pre-make ham and cheese sandwiches PB&J sandwiches
and even breakfast sandwiches. Check out her post for more info on that.
2. Shelf Cooking (it’s not what you think)
Shelf Cooking now I know what you are thinking, why would I eat my shelf? Is it apple wood? lol JK. However, a lot of people don’t shelf cook, it means to make a list of what you have in your house and plan around what’s at home not the other way around. This may seem silly, but it saves a lot of money.
I used to go to the grocery store and buy all the things I would need for meals we loved, but we would have items at the house I forgot we had or would buy things we already had because I couldn’t remember, well not because I didn’t remember, it’s more like I didn’t look.
3. Free Practical Relationship Advice
Not only does her blog help, but her YouTube channel does as well. She has a lot of different types of videos, they are so helpful. My favorite series is “Keeping Our Marriage ALIVE”. It is a 4 part series that just talks about her and her handsome husband Bubba’s relationship alive.
They have such great tips, that I have asked Mike to watch them with me. So we could try to implement some of their tips in our relationship. You don’t have to be married to watch this, it helps for any type of relationship.
4. Block Scheduling
This I did not know about. I always wondered how supermom around the corner was able to do so much in a day. When I was not even getting half of my crap done I needed to. I called it a good day when I got the bed made or got dressed.
This system has made my life so much simpler. I block out my day around my daytime job, working on this blog, cleaning, events, and just about anything that I need to get done. It is truly a godsend. Shall I continue on why Jordan Page is the Queen of Fun Cheap or Free… Ok, Fine I will…
5. Things I didn’t know I could Freeze
My initial reaction to watching Jordan’s video was “WHAT?? YOU CAN’T FREEZE THAT!” “OH HECK NO YOU CAN’T DO THAT!!!” Well, ladies and gents, she proved me wrong. You can freeze A LOT of things. I mean I have bulked cooked a few months. Let me tell you…I didn’t have to think about dinner for almost 2 months.
I made double or even triple meals, froze them, and the day of just let them thaw on the counter for a bit and tossed them in the oven. It tasted just like the day I originally made it!. What sorcery do you perform Jordan??
6. Grocery Hacks that are Fun and Cheap
This one I knew, but it took some time for Mike to come around to it. One grocery hack was to buy store-brand items because it was most likely made in the same factory as the “Name” brand. It will taste the same, you are just paying for the name. Another one was to use leftovers to make a completely new meal.
We made tacos one night and the next day, we didn’t want tacos. So I tossed everything in a pot with salsa, banana peppers, Jalapenos, some lime juice, and a bunch of other things to create a Tortilla Soup. We ate it that night and I froze the rest for another meal or two. GENIUS!!!
7. Laundry Hacks that make it Fun and Cheap
I don’t know about you guys… but Laundry is the bane of my existence. I don’t mind washing it, but I wish I didn’t have to put it away. Not going to lie there have been many, many times we didn’t. We lived out of the hamper. Her tips are great in this video and I didn’t even know I was doing some of them, Like not separating lights and darks.
I know you guys just had a mini heart attack, but hear us out. We don’t separate lights and darks, we sort by fabric and soiled level… Saves so much time and effort. Beat that supermom around the corner, I’m coming for ya!
8. The Queen of traveling Tips with Kids
Jordan’s video, plus many others were lifesavers when we when on vacation in 2018. Knowing what we wanted and what Mikayla would want would be different. Mikayla packed her own backpack with things she found entertaining, while we drove from Florida to New Hampshire.
I also created her a binder with activities to do from writing down license plates we saw to keeping track of things she loved on the trip. We also gave her an old phone we weren’t using anymore and loaded it with games, movies, and music I knew she would like.
She could also take her own pictures on vacation to make a scrapbook. We did the same thing when we explored Cedar Key and Rosewood. I know I am killing this Step-mom thing.
9. Finances in being Fun, Cheap, Or Free
While you are making your relationship better you also need to make sure you can speak about finances, you know the nitty-gritty, stuff that NO ONE wants to talk about. Again Jordan and Bubba have amazing videos on getting on a budget and sticking with it to pay off debt.
Did I mention yet that she also runs Budget Bootcamp or Productivity Bootcamp? I wish I had the money to do them right now. I would do it in a heartbeat. Eventually, I will, but for now, I will take, listen, and apply the tips they give in their video.
10. Traveling on a Budget Can be cheap
This brings me to the last one, while you are working on paying off debt and saving money to live a better life in your awesome relationship, don’t forget to have adventures as well. We did a week’s vacation in New Hampshire for under 1400.
That was our budget and we came home with some money left over. Not too shabby, if I say so myself. There are 2 videos she made that just stuck me with the adventure bug and this is what this new blog is all about. Living your best life. One day and one dollar at a time.
I think after you check out my Queen Jordan Page you will be hooked just like I am. I am so blessed to have found her and that she does what she does. She inspires me to be my best self as a person, as a soon-to-be wife, and as a Step-mom.
We may not be the supermoms around the corner, but you know what she should be shaking because we are coming for her. One task at a time.
